Richard BaughmanSILVERSTREET, SC: Richard "Dick" B. Baughman, 88, of Silverstreet, SC, died Saturday, December 26, 2015 at J. F. Hawkins Nursing Home. Mr. Baughman was born on September 26, 1927 in Zanesville, OH, a son of the late Orville and Thelma Marshall Baughman. Dick graduated from Ohio State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. He was an U.S. Army Veteran and was retired from Rhone Poulenc. He loved his Lord and was a faithful member of Smyrna Presbyterian Church, PCA. He was also a man who had a great work ethic, never met a stranger, and enjoyed working outside, especially in his pecan orchard.Dick is survived by his "bride" of 64 years, Barbara Croy Baughman; children, Becky B. Lea (Randy) of Chapin, SC, Sue Moody (Mike), Jill Bartholomew (Steve), and Mark Baughman (Sandy), all of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Douglas Lea (Amy), Kyle Lea (Melissa), Jordan Moody, Megan Moody, Ryan Bartholomew (Kaitlin), Jessica Bartholomew, Cade Baughman (Anna), and Kara Carroll (Bryant); great-grandchildren, Jackson, Weston, Chase, Audrey, Wyatt, Kendall, and Anna; and brothers, Dean Baughman and Robert Baughman, both of OH. He loved his family and they in return loved him.The family will receive friends Friday, January 1, 2016 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Whitaker Funeral Home, Newberry, SC. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Smyrna Presbyterian Church, PCA conducted by Pastor Dan Ratchford. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ryan Bartholomew, Cade Baughman, Doug Lea, Kyle Lea, Jordan Moody, Brian Krieger, Mike Longshore, and Ricky Richardson.
