Richard Charles Sabbagh, born November 17th, 1964, in Toledo, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in his home on March 7th, 2024. He is survived by his older sister Jo Ann Sabbagh, younger brother Nick Sabbagh, oldest daughter Kathryn Tucker, youngest daughter Jessica Peterson, stepdaughter Amaya Love-Hutchinson, and was preceded in death by his son, Nicholas Sabbagh, his mother, Elizabeth Sheets, and his father, Richard Sabbagh.
Rick led a vibrant life filled with diverse interests and passions. He served in the Army, showcasing his dedication to his country. His competitive spirit shone through as a bodybuilder, where he sculpted both his physique and his determination.
Among his many hobbies, Rick found joy in the art of beer blogging, sharing his enthusiasm with others. His adventurous spirit extended to his travels, where he discovered new cooking techniques that he lovingly incorporated into his repertoire. We can all attest to the mouthwatering dishes that emerged from his kitchen. One particularly cherished recipe was born from his late-night hunger pangs, resulting in the most exquisite pasta concoction that we've ever tasted. We call is “Dad’s Cabbage Pasta”.
To no surpise, Rick owned an Italian restaurant in Tucson, AZ where he also served signature pizzas with creative toppings. His ingenuity wasn't confined to the kitchen; during his corporate tenure, he displayed exceptional leadership skills and a knack for spreadsheet wizardry that seemed almost supernatural.
Rick was a man of remarkable intellect, possessing an curiosity that fueled his avid reading habits. Despite his introverted nature, his infectious laughter could be heard miles away, drawing people in with his charismatic personality. He possessed the rare gift of engaging with individuals from all walks of life, effortlessly delving into their passions and sharing his wealth of knowledge on any topic under the sun. In fact, he would plunge a bit too deep in his passions - which resulted in inevitable, and indefinite cancellation of a couple social media platforms. Thankfully, there was TikTok.
In honoring Rick’s memory, let us cherish the moments we shared- leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable flavors.
