Richard M. Conrad, Jr.HOWARD: Richard M. Conrad, Jr., 87, passed away unexpectedly Thursday October 20, 2016 at his residence. He was born on February 8, 1929, the son of Richard M. and Georgia (Stocker) Conrad. On July 4, 1948, he married Wilma Jean Emery, who died on December 1, 2007. Together they had seven children, and were blessed with many grandchildren. Richard took great joy in supporting his family. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandpa, and he never met a stranger. He enjoyed the Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Cleveland Cavaliers and Indians. He like to fish, golf, bowl, and garden. Richard was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mount Vernon, and was employed in highway construction with Omar Bakery of Zanesville, Mineral Fibers of Coshocton, and Putnam Transfer in Zanesville, from where he retired.He is survived by his children; Jim (Martha) Conrad, Jeff (Judi) Conrad, Sandy (Jim) Witucky, and Randy (Sandy) Conrad all of Coshocton, Doug Conrad of Dresden, and Susan (Jim) Freetage of West Lafayette, his 18 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and several step-grandchildren, his significant other, Anne Bruere of the home, sister, Betty (Dick) Thompson of Newark, daughter-in-law, Jan Roberts, several nieces and nephews and cousins, and Anne's children; Betsy, and Helen, and her grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Richard was preceded in death by a son, Bob, a sister, Wilma (Wayne) Morris, and Anne's son, John. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 27 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Pastor Larry Bobbitt will officiate. Burial will follow in Workman Cemetery. Calling will be one hour prior to the
