Richard E. Dumke1928 - 2014Richard E. Dumke, 85, of Kenosha passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014, after suffering injuries from a tragic car accident.Dick was born on Nov. 5, 1928, in Grand Haven, Mich., the son of the late Charles and Marie (Schuenke) Dumke. He was educated in the schools of Florida and Kenosha, and graduated from Coyne Electrical School in Chicago.He served in the U.S. Navy. Dick married the love of his life, Laurene Sparks on May 14, 1949, in Kenosha. He was employed as a mail carrier for 35 years, after retiring he worked part time at LeEsthers Lamp Shop. Dick was a very active member of First Christian Church. His hobbies included woodworking, cooking, golfing, collecting miniature trains, collecting post office memorabilia from all over the world, he loved music and singing and was a proud member of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America, Inc. (SPEBSQSA), and most of all he valued spending time with his family & friends.Survivors include his wife, Laurene Dumke of Kenosha; children, John E. (Barbara) Dumke of Kenosha, Robert A. (Pamela) Dumke of Glen Allen, Va., Dale D. Dumke of Toledo, Ohio, Susan E. (Kevin) Kaleck of Kenosha; a sister, Delores Dumke; three grandchildren, Michael Kaleck, Kimberly Dumke, and Ryan Dumke; his beagle, Snoopy; and many other family and friends. Dick was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Dumke, and a sister, Barbara Reynolds.A visitation will be held on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, at First Christian Church, 13022 Wilmot Rd, Kenosha, WI 53142, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to First Christian Church would be appreciated.Kenosha Funeral Services & Crematory8226 Sheridan Rd.Kenosha, WI 53143(262) 652-1943
