Richard Edward KenneyCamarillo, CARichard Edward Kenney, 83, entered eternal life on September 26, 2017 in Camarillo, CA surrounded by his loving family. Richard was born on May 31, 1934 in Milford, Massachusetts to Hugh and Florence Kenney as the youngest of five children. He met his beautiful wife Betty Anne Monahan at the USO in Rochester, New York. He was swept off his feet by her beautiful blue eyes and the rest is history. They were married on July 1, 1954 in Wichita Falls, TX while stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base. They often spoke of their relationship as being love at first sight and enjoyed that deep commitment to each other throughout their marriage. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary prior to Betty's passing on December 24, 2014. Richard served our country for four years as a member of the
United States Air Force, during which time he received the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Following his service, he spent most of his career in aircraft manufacturing which allowed him to live in many different places across the nation. He spent most of these years in California, Wisconsin, and Arizona. He was known to be a firm, but compassionate leader throughout his career as a manager. Following his retirement in 1996, Richard and Betty spent a year exploring the beauty of the United States in their RV. Along the way, they enjoyed the company of family and friends they visited throughout their adventures.He is survived by his sister, Winnie Dean and her husband Stanley Dean, his children Betty Anne Weyek and her husband Richard Weyek, Janice Bacon Brummett and her husband Jerry Brummett, and Phillip Kenney and his wife Marlies Kenney. He was blessed with five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Services for Richard and Betty will be held at St. Mary Magdalen Chapel in Camarillo, CA on October 21, 2017 at ten o'clock in the morning. Reception to follow.
