Richard Henry Marsh Sr.AGE: 88 • HazletRichard Marsh (Pop), age 88, passed away peacefully on Christmas Day, December 25, 2016 at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, surrounded by his entire family. Richard was born on March 2, 1928 in Bayonne, where he lived until moving to Hazlet in 1958 to raise his family. Pop was the solid foundation that his family was built on and he will continue to provide that stability forever. He was a devout Catholic and a long time parishioner of St. Benedict Church in Holmdel. Richard was a proud member of the
US Navy from 1945-1952 and served on the USS Curtiss, defending our freedom. He was a proud American. Before retiring, Richard worked as a supervisor at NJ Turnpike Authority. After retiring in 1995, Richard enjoyed spending time with his family attending as many of his grandchildren's baseball, basketball, football and lacrosse games, cheer and dance competitions and recitals, graduations and school functions whenever he could. He was very proud of the young adults they have all become and they will miss him greatly. Our fondest memories include the many family vacations we took in The Outer Banks, NC. Pop was happiest when we were all together.Richard was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Julia Marsh.
