Richard B. Hoskins, 75, of Oxford, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home on December 15, 2024. Born on July 25, 1949, to the late Ferd Hoskins and Loraine B. Hoskins, Richard was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.
Richard dedicated over 50 years of his life to South Mill, exemplifying a strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to his family. In his personal life, he found joy in life’s simple pleasures—relaxing on the couch while listening to country music on TV, grilling outdoors, tending to his garden, and caring for his cherished 1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. Known for his kindness and generosity, Richard left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He is survived by his children: Richard Hoskins (Maranda Hoskins), Ronnie Hoskins (Jamie Hoskins), Ryan and Tracy Johnson-Mahala, "Pebbles" Jewel Hoskins (Jason Stevens), Edward Hoskins Hicks, and Carolyn Kilgore. Richard was a proud grandfather to 13 grandchildren and a great-grandfather to 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Linda Hill, Terry Hoskins, and Norma Lawill. Richard was preceded in death by his siblings: Berchie Hoskins, Donald Hoskins, Barbara Hoskins, Joyce Timmonds, and Ronnie Hoskins.
Richard will be remembered for his love of family, his passion for his car, and the quiet yet profound impact he had on the lives of those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A visitation will be held on December 21, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Ruffenach Family Funeral Homes - Oxford, located at 224 Penn Avenue in Oxford, Pennsylvania. The family kindly requests that flowers be sent to the funeral home or that a tree be planted in Richard’s memory through the floral store.
