Richard Isaac Sharick Sr., Age 85, passed away on October 19, 2016, in Plano, TX. He was born on June 6, 1931, in Depew, NY to Isaac and Ruth Sharick of Corfu, NY.After serving 20 years, Richard retired from the United States Air Force at Cannon AFB in 1969. He did tours in Korea and Vietnam serving with TAC and SAC and was awarded numerous medals including Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal with one Bronze Service Star, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Air Force Longevity Service Award and Outstanding Air Force Unit Award.After retiring from the Air Force in 1969, Richard worked for SIC Loans, Commercial Credit Loans, First Federal Bank and First Savings Bank until Retirement in Clovis, New Mexico.During his retirement years Richard volunteered at the Department of Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic in Clovis NM. After moving to Plano, TX in May 2011 he spent time with his family and enjoyed time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Richard is survived by his children, Karen Poole, Plano, TX, Richard Sharick, Jr., Cedar Hill, TX, Danny (Luisa) Sharick, Albuquerque, NM, Pat Sharick Free, Plano, TX, Catherine Sharick, Kyle, TX, Jim (Lorraine) Sharick, Guymon, OK, and Laura (Manuel) Sharick Morales, Plano, TX. Grandchildren are Ricky Poole, Ryan Shumate, Lindsey Bonnet, Sage Free, Stephanie Gustafson, Randy Chavez, Andrew Sharick, Elizabeth Anne Sharick, Anna, Rita, Cathy and Adam Arellano and Sarah, Danielle and Holly Sharick, Chris Sharick, and eight great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Martha Sharick, His parents Isaac and Ruth Sharick brothers Russel and Donald Sharick. SMSgt Richard I. Sharick Sr., (ret.) memorial service will be held in Plano, Texas on October 21, 2016, at The Catholic Community of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Plano, Texas.
