Richard J. Lewis, age 77, formerly of Erie, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016, after a brief illness, at Bayfront Health Care Center, Dade City, Florida. He was born on January 2, 1939, the son of the late Lieu and Lottie (Czysz) Lewis. He was a member of St. Ann's Church and graduated from Cathedral Preparatory School. Rich previously worked at Autoclave and Lord Corporation. He owned and operated a second-hand thrift store selling used furniture, appliances, and household items. He was an accomplished accordion player. He enjoyed playing his guitar and telling stories with his customers and friends. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid bowler. Survivors include his four children: Richard Lewis, Brian Lewis, Scott (Chris) Lewis and Michelle (Lawrence) Eimers and six grandchildren: RJ, Zachary, Jamie, Megan, Parker and Katie Lewis. He is further survived by two brothers: Roy Lewis and Robert (Roberta) Lewis, including their families. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins and a special friend, Miss Ruby of Dade City, Florida. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Andrea of Greengarden Assisted Living and Bayfront Health Care Facility who showed kindness to Rich during his stay. A memorial service for family and friends will be held at Lakewood United Methodist Church, 3856 West 10th Street, on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 3 p.m., with Pastor, Robert Lewis officiating.
