On Sunday, June 16, 2019, Richard James Robinson, embarked on his voyage from this earthly plane to his heavenly home; bequeathing a legacy of compassion, generosity, a lifelong love for learning, traveling and encouraging others to never let their circumstance define them, as they did not define him. He will be forever remembered for his kind and loving heart. Richard was born in Fort Gaines, GA on August 10, 1932. As a young boy, his family migrated from Georgia to Hallandale, FL, where he met and married Annie mae Terrell. Out of this union, five of his most cherished gifts were born, Richard Jr. (who preceded him in death), Dawn, Barbara,Frank, and Faith. Richard created a lucrative livelihood out of his love of carpentry,where he began his own business. Richard was always called the best carpenter in town. Richard was a faithful Christian who truly embodied serving others. Over the years he served countless souls through his affiliation with, Greater Ward Chapel AME, where he served as an usher and choir member. Later in his life, he would become a valued member of Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church, where he served on the Nursing Home Ministry. In addition to his cherished four childern, Richard leaves behind his loving sisters Patricia Robinson-Joseph, Sharron Robinson-Stewart, his proud brothers, Willie Frank Hanks, and Martin Robinson. His cherished nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and the multitude of beloved extended family. Through all of us, Richard will forever reflect the love he so selflessly gave to others. he will be sorely missed.
