RICHARD JAMES SCOTT, 60, passed on July 20, 2021. He was born to Richard Lee Scott and Judy Lynn March in Tucson, Arizona on April 08, 1961.
Richard grew up in Tucson AZ, Ramona CA and San Diego CA with his brother David Michael Scott.
Richard enlisted in the United States Air Force at the age of 17 and proudly served his country for 9 years and 9 months. He served with the 394th ICBM Test Maintenance Squadron. He was stationed at Malstrom Air Force Base in Montana for 5 years. In 1984 he was transferred to California and was stationed at Vandenburg Air Force Base where he served until his honorable discharge in March of 1988. He married Christine K Irish June 8, 1985. Together they raised 2 children Sean Glen Scott and Daniel Wesley Scott.
Richard moved to Las Vegas, Nevada after leaving the Air Force in 1989. He spent 7 years in Las Vegas where he worked with his brother Mike (David) in his Lawn Maintenance Business. After leaving Las Vegas, Richard moved on to spend 5 years in St George, Utah where he worked for Star Nursery doing what he loved most which was gardening - aside from fishing.
After moving to Spanish Fork, Utah on 2007, Richard was diagnosied with Prostate Cancer. He fought a hard fight and was in remission for several years.
Richard met and married Kari Bench Henrie in Salem, Utah in 2012. They enjoyed many wonderful and happy years together until 2020 when Richard found out the cancer was back and had spread to his bones. Still, Richard continued to fight and do all he could for his family.
Richard enjoyed Louis L'amour western books, gardening, bowling and his favorite past time was fishing. He always had a pole and tackle in his vehicle.
Richard is preceded in death by his father Richard Lee and his mother Judy Lynn. He is survived by his wife Kari. Brother David Michael , two sons Sean and Daniel and one grandson Ashton Scott His neice Staci and nephew Michael. He also is survived by his adopted daughter Markie Scott and step daughters Latesa Peterson and Shiloe Henrie and his step son Breckdyn Boyer.
Richard was a wonderful and caring person inside and out. Heaven has gained an angel. Gone from Life forever in our hearts.
Per Richard's request cremation will take place and his ashes scattered in Montana.
