TUNKHANNOCK — Richard Keith Houck, of Tunkhannock, formerly of Forty Fort, died on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, at home, at the age of 66.
He was born on May 6, 1950, the son of Clayton Harland Houck and Helen (Hewitt) Houck. He attended Forty Fort High School, where he played on the basketball team. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran and served in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968. He resided in Arkansas and Texas for many years, returning to Pennsylvania in 1987. He recently retired from Two Sons Trucking, where he worked as a truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his companion, Paula Lenard; parents and brother, David Houck.
He is survived by his sons, Richard J. Houck, of Canada, and Matthew R. Houck, of Tunkhannock; grandchildren, Tyler and Kyleigh; brother, Dale and wife, Linda, of Kingston; nephews, Clayton Houck, of Wyoming, Thomas Houck, of Forty Fort, Dale Houck, of Red Bank, N.J., Jason and wife, Mary Schmidt, of Tunkhannock, Selena, Jason Jr., Serenity, Vayda, and Colton; nieces, Marcella Garvin, of Pittsburgh, Sarah Houck, of Courtdale, and Amy Houck, of Kingston.
Funeral arrangements are pending from the Hugh B. Hughes & Son Inc. Funeral Home. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
