Laska, RichardRichard L. Laska, 84, formerly of Shantytown, died Thursday July 13, 2017 at The Homme Home of Wittenberg under the care of LeRoyer Hospice.Richard was born on April 23, 1933 in Shantytown, the son of the late Joseph and Martha (Gabor) Laska. On October 15, 1955, Richard was united in marriage to Lillian Dombrowski at St. Mary of Mount Carmel, Fancher. She survives.Richard was a member of St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent and its Men's Society. The couple farmed in Shantytown for many years. Richard drove milk truck, raised veal calves and drove school bus for the Rosholt School District for many years and loved coaching little league in Shantytown. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers, and especially enjoyed attending his grandkids sporting events. Richard is survived by his wife, Lillian; six children, Anne (John) Mieska of Bevent, Laurie (Mikel) Saunby of Bevent, Camille (Larry) Borski of Shantytown, Doreen (Jerry) Stohlman of Mount Holly, NC, Elroy (Lisa) Laska of Stevens Point, and Duane Laska of Shantytown; six grandchildren, Danielle (Matt) Wierzba, Derek (Michaela) Borski, Eric (Ashley) Furmanek, Brittany (Tom Jr.) Pepowski, Kyle (Alyssa Loveland) Borski and Ben (Morgan Younger) Laska; six great-grandchildren, Aubrey, McKenzie, Harmony, Brinley, Rowan, and Lucy; and three siblings, Marian (Phillip) Cherek of Bevent, Agnes Czudec of Stevens Point and Ceil Gorski of Plymouth.Richard was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Judy, brothers Stanley, Anton, Chester, Roman, Ervin, Joseph and Hubert, and sisters Esther Stencil-Kolpack, Lucy Kleman and Annette Gilbert.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6PM, Monday July 17, 2017 at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent. Fr. Augustine Bentil will officiate. Interment will take place in the Parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3PM until the time of service at the church, with a Rosary service at 5 PM.
