Richard Lee MooreJackson, Tennessee - Richard Lee Moore, age 76 of Jackson, passed away on October 17, 2017 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital after a long period of ill health. Richard was born on March 4, 1941 in Hammond, Indiana to the late Thomas and Ruby Westerfield Moore. He had a career in business finance which took his family from Louisville, KY to Nashville and then Jackson, TN. Later in life he completed a second degree at Union University and founded and operated RLM Financial Consultants until his recent retirement. Richard was past president and board member of the Old Hickory Club of
Rotary International and a Paul Harris Fellow at the Rotary Foundation. He and his wife Melinda participated in several international friendship exchanges with Rotary, hosting visitors and traveling to other clubs in England and Turkey. He competed in Senior Olympics at the local, state and national level. When his children were younger Richard was a Boy Scout leader for many years and an enthusiastic participant in the Northside High School Band Boosters. He was a member of Northside United Methodist Church. In addition to his wife he is survived by his son Richard Moore and wife Jennifer of Mammoth Hot Springs, WY, his son Joe Moore and wife Ashley of Apex, NC, and daughter Miranda (Moore) Cashio and husband Anthony of Wise, VA; grandchildren Kyle, Paige, Chapel, Finn, Madeline, and Keegan; and many nieces and nephews and other extended family. He was proceeded in death by his sister Helen Dean (Moore)Wilson of Louisville and brother Dr. William Moore of Bowling Green, KY.The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 1-2 p.m. at The Chapel at Northside United Methodist Church, 2571 North Highland Ave., Jackson. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. with Dr. Don Thrasher officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Rotary International Foundation (online at
