Richey, Richard Lee "Dick" 83 of Cottonwood, Arizona, passed away on July 12, 2017. He was born on December 9, 1933 in Milo, Iowa. He was the oldest son of Clark Melvin and Gladys Leone Richey. The family moved to Phoenix in 1939. He graduated from North High School and then served for 4 years in
U.S. Navy aboard U.S.S. Tingey. He was Honorably Discharged. He married Barbara (Slover) on July 2, 1955. They were married for 62 years. He partnered with his father to form "Richey & Sons" gasoline and oil distributing company in Phoenix area. He then served for 23 years in the Arizona Department of Public Safety as patrolman, paramedic, governor security, and finally a criminal investigations agent. He retired in 1992. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clark and Gladys; his sister, Evelyn (Caldwell) and one grandson, Richard Benjamin Richey. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, his sons, Richard Jr., Scott, Clark and his daughter, Laura. He is also survived by his sisters, Carol (Blanton), Jeanette (Sheldon), Betty Lynn (Marcum) and Susan (Hicks). He was blessed with 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Memorial services will be held at the Verde Com munity Church in Cottonwood on Saturday, August 5th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers send donations to Yavapai Aviant Hospice (
