Decker, Richard M.Richard Marshall Decker, 70, of Appleton passed away suddenly on December 24, 2016. He was born on Christmas Eve, 1946, in Davenport, Iowa, son of the late Charles and Louise (Farmer) Decker. Richard graduated from Milton College and spent his career working as an alcohol and drug abuse counselor, and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Appleton. Throughout his life, he spent as much time as possible at his cabin on Lake Kabetogama, a place he also spent his retirement. Richard was always drawn to the wilds of Alaska, where he visited several times and briefly lived. He loved fishing, hunting, skeet shooting, and working on projects at his cabin. Richard could always be found with a devoted dog by his side. While living in Alaska, he acquired Mooser, his black lab and more recently, Willow, his yellow lab, and they were his constant companions. He is survived by his companion Patricia Isensee, his daughter Alicia Decker of State College, Pennsylvania, his son Jeff Decker (Lisa) of New Prague, Minnesota, his grandchildren Sam and Mason Decker and Sage Burgos, and two brothers: John Decker of Iowa and Lee Decker of Illinois. Memorial service for Richard will be 11:00 AM on Friday, December 30, 2016 at FAITH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 601 E. Glendale Ave, Appleton, with Rev. Aaron Rosenau officiating. Visitation will be held at the church Friday morning beginning at 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM service.
