Richard M MoreyAGE: 70 • Newtown Square, PA.Richard M. Morey 70, of Newtown Square, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully at home on September 26, 2017 surround by his loving family. He was born on July 2, 1947 in Staten Island. He was a graduate of Port Richmond High School class of 1964. He was raised in Staten Island and lived there until 1977 when he moved to Middletown, where he raised his family. In 1994 he settled in Newtown Square. He began his career as a signalman for the N.Y.C. Transit Authority. He also was employed by the Fischbach and Moore Transit Group. He was Vice President of Operations. He later worked for Skanska-Slattery Construction as an Independent Contractor/Consultant for electrical transit work. He was directly involved with the rebuilding of the World Trade Center path system and the JFK Rail System. He was known to all as "MR. TRANSIT". Richard was a Road Scholar and had many interests, he loved reading, hunting and traveling. He was an avid fisherman and Atlanta Braves fan. He traveled the world for business and pleasure and loved visiting many places such as Trout Lake, Fairview Lake, Fort Lauderdale, Key West, Ireland, Panama, Puerto Rico and many more. He loved nature and the simple things, but most of all treasured making memories with his family and friends. His favorite sayings were "keep the faith" and "do the right thing". Richard was predeceased by his parents Nelson Morey and Ida (Hooker) Carroll, his sister Anne Mulligan and his late wife the mother of his children Joyce R. Morey. He is survived by his loving children, Laura Whiteman and her husband Norman of Hazlet, Patricia Huegel and her husband Richard of Jackson, Robyn Dzibela and her husband Bret of Tinton Falls. His adored grandchildren, Richie, Melissa, Jessica, Susan, Dylan, Christopher, Brandon, Tyler and one great grandson on the way. He is also survived by his dear sister, Frances Wisniewski and her husband Kenneth, his brothers, William Morey and his wife Joanne and Henry Morey along with his "adopted daughter" Eileen Rigby along with many nieces nephews extended family and friends. He will be sadly missed but never forgotten. Family and Friends are invited to visit on Friday September 29, from 4:00 to 9:00 PM and Saturday September 30 from 8:30 to 9:15 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3269 State Route/Highway 35 North, Hazlet.
