Richard C. PattersonZANESVILLE: Richard C. "Dick" Patterson, 89, of Zanesville, passed away at 7:45 p.m. Mon. Sept. 5, 2016 at Genesis Hospital. He was born on Jan. 2, 1927 in Zanesville, a son of the late Orville Robert and Rose Edith (Athey) Patterson. He graduated from Lash High School in 1944 where he was a member of the drama club. He was a United States Army Air Force veteran. He was employed at Ohio Bell, starting in June of 1944 and retiring in July of 1991. He was a member of the Lafayette Lodge F & AM, life member of the Telephone Pioneers and past president of the local chapter. He was a member of Meadow Farm Methodist Church. He ran the concession stand at Municipal Stadium from the mid 1950's to the late 1960's. He was a telephone collector, enjoyed woodworking and photography.He is survived by one son C. Michael Patterson.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Verna Patterson and one brother James O. Patterson.Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Fri. Sept. 9, 2016 at WILLIAM THOMPSON & SON FUNERAL HOME 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Sat. Sept. 10, 2016 with Pastor Doris Flynn officiating. Burial will be in Wesley Union Cemetery.
