Boyer, Richard Sidney Richard Sidney Boyer, 84, passed away on Sunday June 11, 2017 In Prescott Valley. Richard was born on December 30, 1932 to a third generation Arizona pioneer family in Prescott, Arizona. Richard's childhood found him in remote areas of Northern Arizona as the family road construction business moved from camp to camp. This gave him a love of the outdoors and nature. Once the family settled in Prescott, Richard spent countless hours exploring the area on his horse "Pancho". After graduating from Prescott High School in 1951, he then attended NAU where he received his Bachelors in Education. Upon graduation he served in the Army for two years before taking his first teaching job at Orangewood Elementary in Phoenix. While teaching he attended ASU where he received his Masters in Education. Richard went on to spend over 30 years as an elementary school administrator in the Washington School District. Richard loved all outdoor activities, but his true passion was fishing. He always had one or more boats and could often be found on one lake or another after he retired. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Mary Boyer, and his brother Tom Boyer. He is survived by the mother of his children, Myra Boyer-Turner and his children, Gregg, Ruth, Cydney, Thomas and James. He was grandfather to eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He will be missed... Memorial services will be held at 2 pm, Friday, June 16th, at Hampton Funeral Home, 240 S Cortez. Prescott, Arizona.
