This obituary is administered by:
Richard S. Adams, known to family and friends as, "Richi", passed away peacefully on January 24, 2017, at 5:05 p.m. He was 57. The eldest son of Stuart and Beverley (Sibbett) Adams, Richi was born on October 1, 1959, in Welland, Ontario. Richi was predeceased by his grandparents, Cameron and Mary Lee (Roberts) Sibbett, Everett and Sarah (Anderson) Adams, as well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Richi was a kind, sharing, positive person who always found the good in everything. He loved making new friends and visiting old friends. He made a difference in their lives, even if he just met them once. He brought joy to everyone and was loved by all. Richi was an avid athlete. He represented the City of Port Colborne, Ontario as a track and field athlete in the very first Canadian Special Olympics, held in Toronto, Ontario in 1969. He also represented the Town of Pincher Creek, Alberta as a cross-country skier in Calgary, Alberta in 1996 and the City of Penticton, British Columbia as a swimmer in Sudbury, Ontario in 1998. He also enjoyed bowling, downhill skiing, and slow-pitch. Richi loved his music, especially Elvis. He also loved the oldie but goodie television shows of the 60's and 70's like Dick Van Dyke, The Beverly Hillbillies, I Dream of Jeannie, Get Smart, Gilligan's Island, Bewitched, Green Acres, Leave it to Beaver, My Three Sons, The Brady Bunch, The Partridge Family, Six Million Dollar Man, Wonder Woman, Mork and Mindy, Threes Company, Laverne and Shirley, plus his favorites Star Trek and Happy Days. Our son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend will be remembered for his high collars and unbuttoned shirts (Elvis) and his snapping fingers followed by "Ehh" - Fonzie. Richard is survived by his parents, Stuart and Beverley Adams of Barrhead, Alberta, his brother Stuart Adams of Souris, Manitoba and his sister Sherri Adams of Summerland, British Columbia. He is also survived by his nieces, Samantha Bruder, Brittani (Bruder) Adams, Stephanie Adams, Krystal Adams; nephews, Stuart (P.J.) Adams, Josh Adams and great nieces Cori Leclerc and Laura Leclerc and many other close relatives and friends. On behalf of our son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, Richi, we would like to thank all the Staff at both the Royal Alexandra Hospital and University Hospital for the compassionate care they provided.
