Thrasher Mrs. Rita Marie Thrasher, age 80, of Gold Branch Rd., Murphy, N.C., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 in the North East GA Medical Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Thrasher was born on May 3, 1936 in Detroit, MI., the daughter of the late Edward Peck and the late Marie Bundshuh Peck. Rita enjoyed quilting, jewelry making, knitting, crocheting, baking and cooking. She was a loving and wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents and also a son Brian Alan Thrasher in 1978. Rita was a member All Saints Lutheran Church. Surviving Mrs. Thrasher are her loving husband of fifty nine years, Melvin Thrasher of Murphy; two daughters, Lori Ann George of Columbus, OH., Vicky Alane Thrasher of Mt. Vernon, OH.; one granddaughter, Melanie George of Columbus, OH.; many other relatives and friends also survive. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the All Saints Lutheran Church with Rev. Dave Wesche officiating and will be announced. Interment will follow in the Franklin Hills Memorial Gardens in Canal Winchester, OH. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the All Saints Lutheran Church in memory of Mrs. Thrasher.
