Visitation will be held all day Monday, June 5, 2017 at the funeral home, with family present 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday. June 6, 2017 in Bangs Cemetery in Bangs, Texas. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Sherwood Way.Robbie was born on Aug. 17, 1928 to Robert and Mary Parker in Gunter, Texas.She attended the nursing program at Austin College in Sherman, Texas. As a Registered Nurse, she worked at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas, Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas, and Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, Texas. As a United States Cadet Nurse Corps in 1945, she worked at the Veterans Hospital in Temple, Texas where she met the love of her life, George W. Davis Sr. They married on May 29, 1948 at Trinity United Methodist Church in San Angelo, Texas. She also worked for Dr. Wiley B. Roundtree in San Angelo, Texas. After she left the nursing field, they remained lifelong friends. During her life, Robbie was a room-mother at Stephen F. Austin Elementary School, a Cub Scout Leader and a Girl Scout Leader. She was also a member of the DAR, Life Member of San Angelo Genealogy Society, and held many offices, including Past Worthy Matron, of Eastern Star Chapter 10.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother, Carol E. Parker.Robbie is survived by her greatest accomplishment, her five children, Marilynne and husband Phil Landweer of Spring Branch, Texas, George W. Jr. and wife Beth Davis of Selma, Texas, Gary Wayne and wife Donna Davis, Bobby Gene and wife Anita Davis, and Debbie Davis, all of San Angelo, Texas; grandchildren Allyson Stillwell, Anthony (Tony) Davis, George (GW) Davis, Jennifer Nelson, Stephanie Haynes, Bobby (Bubba) Davis, Regina Steakley, Jason Davis, and Robbie Davis; and 17 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Ralph Parker, and sister-in-law, Charlene Parker; and numerous nieces and nephews. Online condolences may be made to
