Donnay, 77, of Watkins will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins. Robert passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, November 17, 2016. Rev. Aaron Nett and Rev. Robert Rolfes will concelebrate. Burial will be in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, November 25, 2016.Family and friends may call between 4:00 and 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, both at the St. Anthony Catholic Church Parish Center. The Watkins Senior Citizens, Catholic Order Of Foresters and Knights Of Columbus will pray the rosary at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the church, followed by parish prayers at 7:30 p.m.Robert was born on September 21, 1939 in rural Kimball. He was the son of Jacob M. and Elizabeth (Loch) Donnay. Robert graduated from St. Boniface High School in Cold Spring. On June 22, 1968, Robert was united in marriage to Ethel Fuechtmann at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose. Robert farmed the family farm near Kimball until his retirement in 1999.Robert was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins and was active as a Eucharistic minister. He was a member of the Catholic Order Of Foresters, Knights Of Columbus and the Watkins Senior Citizens. Robert had a deep faith and often prayed the rosary. His hobbies included playing cards, fishing and he had a sweet tooth for chocolate. He loved farming and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.Robert is survived by his wife, Ethel Donnay of Watkins; children and their spouses, Ronald Donnay of Watkins, Jacob (Sue) Donnay of Kissimmee, FL, Bradley (Leanne) Donnay of Kimball, Lisa (Larry) Ludwig of Richmond, Eric (Denise) Donnay of Kimball, Kevin (Erin) Donnay of Kimball, Anita (Pete) Wyeth of Janesville, WI, Sara (Dennis) Beck of Kimball, Diana (Nick) Kemper of Kimball, Nicholas (Katie) Donnay of Watkins; 26 grandchildren and one on the way; brother, Charles Donnay of St. Cloud, sister, Clara Maurer of Coon Rapids; sister-in-laws RoseAnn Donnay of Kimball and Iris Donnay of Watkins.He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sheila Donnay as an infant; grandchildren, Charles Wyeth, Robert Beck and Mary Beck; brothers and sisters, Gilbert (Vera) Donnay, Fr. Ray Donnay, Florian Donnay, Eugene Donnay, Rita (Paul) Molitor and Sister Emily Donnay.
