Wellner, Robert Alan Fred "Bob" 76, of Wichita, KS, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2016, in Wichita. Robert was born on February 3, 1940 in Charter Oak, IA, the son of Herman and Irene Wellner. Robert and Jean Wellner were united in marriage on March 21, 1959 in Independence, KS. Together they celebrated 57 years of marriage. Bob was "Mr. Fix it"! He worked for Geo C. Christopher Steel as a maintenance supervisor for 33 years and retired from Lear Jet. He loved grandkids, fishing in his boat, bowling and gardening, especially growing tomatoes! Bob Joined Grace Lutheran Church in 1959, and was very active serving as Vice President, Financial Secretary, Trustee and many other boards. He was baptized as child of God in Charter Oak, IA and was confirmed in his faith at Zion Lutheran Church, Independence, KS. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Loren Wellner and Merlin Wellner; nephew, William Wellner; and niece, April Crump. Survivors include his loving wife, Annis Jean Wellner of Wichita; sons, Jeffrey Wellner of Wichita, Kenneth and Windy Wellner of Andover, Michael and Angela Wellner of Andover; four grandchildren, Jacob Wellner, Zachary and Chandler Wellner, Kelsey Wellner and Keaton Wellner, all of Wichita; one great-granddaughter, Andi Matthews; sister-in-law, Betty Wellner of El Dorado; and 11 nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2016; Memorial services will be 10 a.m. on Monday, August 1, 2016, both at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita. Burial was held at Lakeview Cemetery, Wichita. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, 347 Laura St., Wichita, KS 67211.
