Alderson, Sr., Robert Of Tempe, Arizona passed away on April 18, 2017. Robert was born on July 22, 1934 and was a graduate of Johns Hopkins and Notre Dame Universities. As a Mechanical Engineer, Robert was involved in the moon landing research and worked at Bendix, Mishawaka, Indiana and Garrett. He was a member of Garrett Retirees Duplicate Bridge Club and earned a Life Master in bridge. In recent years, he enjoyed playing at Via Linda and Devonshire Senior Centers. Robert was the Co-Founder with his wife Audrey of Audrey's Angels where he served as Chairman of the Board. He volunteered his time at Paradise Valley United Methodist Church teaching Adult Bible Study classes and served on the building committee, organ committee and was Chairman of the Council of Ministries. He also sang in two church choirs and volunteered his computer talents at Creighton UMC for ten years. Robert was a generous gentle giant who loved God and his family deeply. The family would like to give special thanks to the wonderful staff of Health Care Center at Friendship Village, especially to Carlos Garcia. Robert is survived by his wife, Audrey of 60 years and their three children; Jeannette (Dave), Robert, Jr. (Linda), and Kim (Bob), six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Friday, April 21 at 11:00 am at Paradise Valley United Methodist Church, 4455 E. Lincoln Drive, Paradise Valley with a reception following the service. Arrangements by Neptune Society. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Audrey's Angels.
