Robert was born in Hackensack, NJ to the late Kenneth and Lilian Jean (Scharff) Giannone. For 43 years he was married to his high school sweetheart, Barbara . Together they shared two children, Cori Scotti of Lakewood, NJ and Christopher (Krista) of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He lost In loving son, Robert, a few years ago. He had four loving grandchildren, whom were his world.
After an avid career in the food industry, launching his own catering company,he assured everyone, they would never leave Hungry. He loved the water and meditating but more so fishing and giving it away. He was known for his generosity.
A devoted husband, father, brother and super grandpa. He was a teacher to all. He loved music, sang in the choir and sponsored many cooking trips to Italy.
Bob, as people knew him, was always helping young people find their way. A caring youth director, an usher at his church and president of his chapter for the American Cancer Society, he did it with a smile. Everyone loved Bob.
He loved the ocean and taking his family there each summer and he especially traveled to hear his daughter sing all over the world, with her beautiful operatic voice. He went everywhere she went. He enjoyed bicycling and making Sunday brunch for dozens of people.
He promoted education, had a scholarship named after his late father, also a chef, and enjoyed ballroom dancing with his beloved.He was a proud supporter of his local law enforcement and loved people, but mostly helping them.
His cause of death was sudden and heartbreaking to all who loved him. He is survived by two brothers John( Rita) and Antonio(Carla), four nieces and a nephew
He will be cremated and burial will be private, at the request of the family. Friends are invited to a memorial mass in his memory on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at 10:30 am. Please join the family in celebrating his life.
