Green, Robert A. (1930-2016)Robert August "Bob" Green, age 86, of Plymouth, WI, passed away early Wednesday morning (November 23, 2016) at Golden Living in Sheboygan Wisconsin where he had been recovering the last few months after surgery.He was born on August 25, 1930 in Marshfield, WI, the first son of the late Frank and Irma (Berklein) Green. Bob was a veteran of the
Korean War serving in the
United States Air Force as a Military Police (MP) in the 5th Air Force in Japan as well as other stateside posts.On June 28, 1958, he married Bethel Hoffman in Plymouth, WI. The couple resided in Plymouth after their marriage until she passed away in February 2015. They enjoyed many happy winters together in Las Vegas. Bob worked at Kohler Company for 37 years in the enamel and generator divisions and retired in 1992. He was very active in the local UAW 833 serving as a Steward, Chief Steward and Vice President and was proud to have worked on many contact negotiations.He was actively involved in the Plymouth
VFW World Cheese Center Post # 5612 and served on the VFW firing squad for many years in Plymouth.He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Plymouth and will be remembered for his soups and sweet rolls in support of the fall bazaar.Bob enjoyed hunting (especially deer and goose hunting) and fishing. He provided smoked fish from Lake Michigan for many family and friends over the years.Bob was an avid gardener and canned many fruits and vegetables. Survivors include two sons Larry (Marsha) Green of Overland Park, KS and Ted Green of Sheboygan, WI; Two step granddaughters, Nikohl (Thomas) Williams and Natalie (Kevin) Simpson both of Olathe KS. Five step great-grandchildren Jonas, Marah and Gavin Williams; Keara and Bryson Simpson all of Olathe, KS. One brother Frank (Darlene) Green of New Mexico, One sister-in-law Anette LeMahieu of Apache Junction, AZ and one brother-in-law Vern Rietbrock of Ada, WI. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Bob was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Donald, Richard, Charles; one sister, Ruth; mother and father-in-law; one brother-in-law, Jess Lemahieu; and one sister-in-law, Lois Rietbrock.Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon December 3, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1808 Eastern Ave, Plymouth, WI. Rev. Casey Sugden, pastor of the church will officiate. Entombment will be in the Gardens of Peace Mausoleum at Greenlawn Memorial Park in the Town of Sheboygan.Friends may call at the CHURCH on Saturday, December 3rd, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.The Plymouth VFW World Cheese Center Post # 5612 will conduct military rites at the Cemetery following the services.
