Robert B. PedenAge: 95 • So.BurlingtonRobert B. Peden, 95, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 5, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Robert and his twin, William, were born on July 2, 1922 in Elizabeth, NJ, the sons of Robert William and Bernice (Byington) Peden. Robert spent many a summer in Charlotte, VT on his grandmother's farm. He graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in Agriculture. He served his country honorably with the
U.S. Navy in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater during W.W.II having worked his way up to Lieutenant (jg). After the war, Bob met the future love of his life, Marcella Medor, on a blind date. They were married on Sept. 9,1950 and settled in VT.During his long and happy life, he had a varied career, from selling farm equipment, to becoming an accountant, to being an entrepreneur with his wife, Marcella. During his retirement years, he and Marce traveled to over 26 countries and then all around the U.S. in their beloved Airstream.Robert is survived by his wife, Marcella and their 7 children: Christine of Essex Jct., Michael and his wife, Andrea, of Cambridge, Kathleen of Burlington, Pamela and the love of her life, Tom Trono, of So. Burlington, Thomas and his wife, Victoria, of St. Albans, John and his wife, Mary Kathryn, of Williston and Joseph and his fiancee, Anne Bergman, of Hinesburg; 10 grandchildren: Hilary, Grant, Morgan, Peter, Anna, Ruth, Anthony, Jessica, Amanda and Sam and 5 great grandchildren: Hudson, Savannah, Liam, Elizabeth and Cameron; his sister-in-law, Evelyn Peden, of VA and several nieces, nephews and cousins.He was pre-deceased by his brothers: William Peden and Rev. James Peden.Visiting hours will be held on Fri., Aug. 11, 2017, from 12-2 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. at Elmwood-Meunier Funeral Home, 97 Elmwood Ave., Burlington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Sat., Aug. 12, at 10 a.m., in St. Joseph Co-Cathedral in Burlington. A Reception will follow in the church hall with interment in Mt.
