Bob, age 90, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away unexpectedly on November 27, 2016 after a brief illness. Bob was born on March 14, 1926 in Austin, Texas. It was there that he met and married the love of his life, Betty, on December 25, 1949. Bob moved his family to Los Alamos in 1967 where he worked for LANL and LATA. Bob and Betty lived in Westminster, Colorado and Las Vegas, Nevada before moving to Albuquerque in 1999. Bob was a beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather who spent countless hours supporting all family activities and providing memorable opportunities and experiences. He will be remembered as the most humble, kind, caring and gentle man you will ever meet.Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years. He is survived by his loving family; daughters Kay (George) Provolt, Carol Blackstone (Derek Potton); sons Ernie (Pam) Blackstone and Steve (Pegi) Blackstone; grandchildren Kristy (Aaron) Schwenke, Kimberly (Sean) McNally, Tiffany (Nick) London, Bobby (Haley) Blackstone, Kyle (Tiffany) Pierre, and Kara Blackstone; great grandchildren Drew and Matthew Schwenke, Leah and Colton McNally, Kinzley and Keegan London, and Travis and Justin Pierre. Bob is also survived by his brother Tom (Betty) Blackstone of Arlington, Texas; sisters Daisy (Frank) Cutler of Austin, Texas and Mary Medlin of Houston,Texas; and many nieces and nephews. The Blackstone family is thankful for the numerous medical personnel who provided Bob with loving care and professional treatment during his brief illness.A service celebrating Bob's life will take place on Monday, December 19th at 11:00 a.m. at Sandia Presbyterian Church. Interment for both Bob and Betty will be at a later date in Austin Memorial Park Cemetery, Austin, Texas.
