A memorial service celebrating the life of Robert "Bob" Edward Fox, age 83, of Heath, was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 21, at Second Presbyterian Church, 42 East Church Street, Newark, with Rev. Kim Trimboli officiating. Bob passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at his home. He was born on August 8, 1933, in Fairview, Pa., to the late Charles Lloyd and Adela Maud (Struchen) Fox. Bob graduated from Fairview High School where he played football, participated in all-star teams and was a high school class speaker. Bob graduated from Pennsylvania State University in Civil Engineering. He worked for 30 years for the Ohio Department of Transportation, where one of his greatest accomplishments was being a part of the design of Interstate 70. He was self-employed and did foundation inspections after retirement. He served on the Licking County Planning Commission, Licking County Board of Realtors for Shelter Ohio, Disaster Relief for the State of Ohio and Red Cross and Easter Seals. He was the Past President for Professional Engineers, Past Master of Center Star F & AM Lodge. He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church. Bob loved his log home, which he helped build in 1985 and sponsored a golf outing for 25 years, The Bob Fox Open. Bob's sense of humor sustained him throughout his long illness. He loved his Nittany Lions. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jacquelyn A. (Mowry) Fox; three children, Jeffrey Jon (Theresa) Fox of Torrance, Calif., Sandra Sue (Mark) Travis of Newark and Laura Lee (Rod) Stimson of Watkinsville, Ga.; five grandchildren, Brandy (Brian) Layton, Michael Fox, Kelly Fox, Tristan Stimson and Hannah Stimson; and two great-grandchildren, Cory Layton and Lyla Layton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine (Delbert) Cochran. Memorial contributions may be made to The Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio, P.O.
