Robert Dennis Draleaus Sr.of Fitchburg, Army Vet; 85 FITCHBURG -- Robert Dennis Draleaus Sr., 85, of Falulah Street, Fitchburg, died November 22, 2016, peacefully at home surrounded by his family after a long illness.Robert "Pee Wee" was born on August 16, 1931 in Lancaster, MA. He leaves behind his children, Robert D. Draleaus, Jr. and his wife, Joyce of Highgate VT, Joanne Freeman of Fitchburg, Barbara Curtis and her husband, Gary, of Bloomfield, VT, Wayne Draleaus of Fitchburg, Penelope Brandt and her husband, Dennis, of Elgin, OK, and Paula Antwi-Ayim of Fitchburg.He leaves his brother, Armand Draleau.He was predeceased by his wife, Gertrude Bragg (2014), his son, Ronald J. Draleaus (2007), and daughter Patrice Draleaus (1966) and his sisters, Mary Moore, Pauline Moore, and his bother, Paul Draleau.A loving grandfather, Robert leaves behind 15 grandchildren: Michelle Martin, Marcia St. Arnault, and Robert Draleaus III; Jason Mattison, Billie-Jo Mattison and Patrice Drapeau; Christopher Curtis and James Curtis; Crystal Draleaus, Raymond Draleaus and Cynthia Draleaus; Elizabeth Bevens and Zachary Brandt; Jessica Draleaus and Ciara Draleaus. He also leaves 11 great-grandchildren: Nathaniel, Faith, Devyn, Nicholas, Jacob, Heather, Justice, Jordan, Dakotah, Caleb, Josephine, and Sansah; as well as countless nieces, nephews and cousins.Robert loved spending his time with his family. He enjoyed maintaining and puttering around his house. In his life, Robert was a retired SGT in the US Army and also retired truck-driver from Tucker Housewares. But mostly, he was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend.A special thank you is sent to his hospice care team at HealthAlliance Home Health & Hospice of Leominster.DRALEAUS -- A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 25, 2016 at 12 pm in the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster. A calling hour will be held prior to the service from 11 am- 12 pm in the funeral home.
