In 1944 Bennie moved his family to Babbit NV to make a better life for them and he succeeded. Robbie had a great childhood and he graduated from Mineral County High School in 1952. He went into the National Guard from 1952 to 1958 with qualifications Marksman (Carbine) and Expert (Rifle MI). In the late 50's he worked in The El Capitan as a slots supervisor till the mid 60's he moved to Reno NV. He worked slots in the Cal Neva and met his wife Diane and married on October 7, 1967 the same year he started his career for Reno Police Department as a police officer. He served 19 years walking the beat, driving the paddy wagon and training over 120 police officers. After the passing of his wife Diane in 1987 he was left behind along with their 10 year old daughter April and decided to transfer to Reno Municipal Court as a bailiff for the honorable Judge Jay Dillworth. Nine years later he retired in 1996 and went back to Hawthorne NV where he would make a peaceful life for himself. He would travel with friends and visit his kids and grandchildren whom he had loving relationships with. But most of his days were in Hawthorne where he would have coffee with his friends at McDonald's bright and early every morning, take his daily walks all around town and let's not forget Tuesday steak nights at The El Capitan. Our dad was a man of integrity and kindness. A story teller, a peace maker and most of all a true friend to so many. Dad, you are so loved and missed by many. Thank you for your unconditional love.A service will be held by the Reno Police Department on Tuesday November 14th at 2pm at the Elysian Feild Urn Garden at Mt. Veiw Cemetery.
