Robert (Bob) was born on July 23, 1923, to Frank and Louella Schultz in Le Mars, Iowa. He graduated from Le Mars Central High School in 1941; joined the United States Navy in January 1942; discharged from service on January 25, 1946. He served on the battleship USS Pennsylvania, receiving many medals.He attended trade school in Chicago, studying auto mechanics. After completing school, he started a car business. Dissatisfied, Bob went to California; he taught auto mechanics at Covina High School in Covina, California, for a few years. Never lacking adventure or ambition, he moved to Anchorage, Alaska, and then started working for Rowan Oil Company at Prudhoe Bay, where he spent the next ten years working on the Alaskan Pipeline, from which he retired.Survivors are his wife, Janice; sisters, Bonne and Bette; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased are his parents, and brothers - Francis, Dale, and Lloyd.Services will be held Wednesday, November 2nd, at 11:00 a.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 1900 Baker Street.
