Formerly of Philadelphia, PA, he had been a Bonita Springs resident since 2000. He was born on December 27, 1938 in Philadelphia, the son of Bernhardt Anthony "Tony" and Margaret "Della" (nee Murphy) Wahner.Mr. Wahner was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was an avid reader who enjoyed American history and many other diverse subjects. His favorite travel destination was Hawaii. He was a dear father, loving husband, and beloved grandfather who enjoyed a fulfilling life creating memories. His contribution to the world was two generations to grow America and his only regret was not having enough time to fish.He is survived by his loving children, Brian Keith Wahner of Dallas, GA and Monica Ann Sharp of Bonita Springs, FL; his cherished granddaughter, Kristin Nicole Sharp; brothers, Norman (Bette) Wahner and Anthony Wahner; sister, Carole Cody; and many loved nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 52 years, Sandra Roseanne "Sandy" (nee Amoresano) Wahner in 2012; his son, Mark Kevin Wahner in 2002; brother, Richard Wahner; and sister, Evelyn Campion. A funeral service will be held Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. at Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home, 28300 Tamiami Trail South, Bonita Springs.
