Kuhlmann, Robert "Bob" Eugene At the age of 85, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017. He was born on January 9, 1932 in Olpe, KS, and raised on a farm there. Bob served in the U.S. Army and worked for 34 years for Southwestern Bell and AT&T in Wichita. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Betty (Miller) Kuhlmann whom he married on May 17, 1958, in Emporia, Kansas. Also surviving are his son, Steve Kuhlmann and his wife, Roxy; two grandsons, Mark Kuhlmann and his wife, Minda, and Nathan Kuhlmann; 4 siblings, Dorothy Schmidt, Doris Redeker, Roy Kuhlmann, and Richard Kuhlmann. Bob was preceded in death by a son, Scott; parents, Paul and Regina Kuhlmann; and two brothers, Arnold and W.C. Kuhlmann. Bob and Betty were lifelong Wichita State Shocker fans. For many years, they enjoyed attending Shocker basketball and baseball games. Bob also volunteered his time during retirement working on Talking Books. He enjoyed golfing with his son and grandsons, working on his beautiful yard and flowers, and he and Betty traveled to many places near and far throughout the years. He was a wonderful father, loving grandfather, and a devoted and caring husband to Betty. He was also a devout Catholic who lived his faith by example. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 7829 E. Rockhill, Suite 403, Wichita, KS 67206. The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Friday, February 3, at Downing & Lahey Mortuary West.
