Robert Eugene SmithLubbockRobert "Bobby" Smith Jr. was born on April 14, 1959, to Robert and Edith (Rhodes) Smith in Houston, Texas.Bobby worked as a Maintenance Supervisor in HVAC. On Sept. 19, 1998, he married Taleta Staggs in Hobbs, New Mexico. He was an avid dart enthusiast and loved to play poker. Bobby was known for his sometimes brutal honesty. Bobby was a loyal husband, father and friend. He will be missed.Robert is survived by his loving wife, Taleta Smith; four children, Robert Eugene Smith III and wife Amanda, Christopher Smith and wife Sarah all of San Angelo, Amber Hughes and husband Greg of Plano and Cody Derington and wife Wendy of Brownfield; 14 grandchildren; sister Catherine Smith of San Angelo; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Connie Bush.In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the , the or the Autism Awareness Foundation.Bobby passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017, at the age of 58. A private family service will be at a later date.
