Bob was born on March 23, 1932 in Carthage, Tennessee to the late Clint and Anna Mabel Lamons. After graduating from Smith County High School, Bob graduated from Tennessee Tech University with a business degree. He then served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1957 as a First Lieutenant. Bob spent the entirety of his 40-year career with the former First American National Bank, retiring after serving 10 years as President of the bank in Jackson. Bob and Janie moved to Knoxville in 2004, where he spent the last 11 years playing golf, reading, and enjoying every minute with his grandchildren. While living in Nashville, Bob spent years coaching both boys' and girls' basketball teams at Dalewood Baptist Church and was an active member of the Dalewood softball and basketball teams for nearly 20 years. In his later years on the golf course, he enjoyed three holes-in-one and once shot his age. A true southern gentleman with an affable nature and a ready smile, Bob was a wonderful and loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and he will be greatly missed and forever loved by all who knew him.
