Robert Howard Cameron, 77, passed away peacefully at home, on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born on January 29, 1938 in Morristown, New Jersey to Jean & Jack Cameron and Robert Maher. He graduated from Morristown High School, where he wrestled and ran track. Afterward, he joined the US Army and was stationed in Germany. Later he hitchhiked his way to California where he attended Sacramento City College, earning his Associates of Science degree. After marrying Sally, his wife in Sacramento, 1966, they moved from Half Moon Bay to Petaluma in 1968. Together they raised three daughters and were active members of St. James Catholic Church. Bob was a devoted Knight of Columbus and an Elk.
He had a long career with State Farm Insurance, retiring in 1999 after 33 years. Bob had a passion for tennis, softball, golf and dancing. He was a tennis coach at St. Vincent High School for many years, a job he loved. He had such fun playing softball with the “Mooses” on the St. James softball team. Sally & Bob country line danced for many years at local venues. After retirement, he enjoyed playing golf several times a week. Bob loved to travel, and shared that love with his family, visiting many countries throughout the years. Bob is survived by his beloved wife Sally Jean, and three daughters, Tammy (John) Maher, Terry (Kevin) Baribault and Tricia (Michael) Maxson. His greatest joy were his grandchildren, Shannon, Conor & Bridget Maher; Tyler, Kyle & Michael Baribault; Wendy, Linda, Charlie & Jacqueline Maxson. He is survived by 5 sisters and one brother. He loved his many nieces and nephews, his neighbors, his colleagues and friends. He is predeceased by his mother, father, and step-father, John Cameron,
