TOWNSEND, Mass. - Robert H. Moody, 68, of Townsend, died peacefully at his home, surrounded by family, on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016. He was the son of the late Alice V. and Maurice M. Moody Sr. and was born on Dec. 7, 1948, in Exeter, N.H.He graduated from Alvirne High School, Hudson, N.H., and attended the New Hampshire Vocational Technical College in Nashua, N.H.Bob served as a member of the Air Force Security Service from 1968 to 1972. After discharge from the Air Force, Bob traveled extensively throughout Europe, Africa and Asia before returning home to Hudson.He worked at Centronics for 17 years and held several other jobs, including Digital and North American Interconnect. He began work at Oasis Imaging in Nashua, and moved to Mississippi when Oasis relocated their company. He also worked for American Music and Sound before relocating to Townsend two years ago. He was most recently employed by Special Hermetics Products, Wilton, N.H., and Communications Technology Services, Marlborough, Mass.Bob's lifelong passion was sports, especially basketball, which he frequently played on basketball leagues and pickup games until the age of 66. He enjoyed every aspect of sports and coaching kids in basketball and baseball. Bob and his family enjoyed many years camping at their cabin at Merrymeeting Lake, hiking in the woods and walking with his beloved Springer Spaniel, Brady.Bob was married to his wife, Nancy (Audette) Moody, for 43 years; and leaves two sons, Travis J. Moody, Dover, N.H., and Todd E. Moody and his wife, Jessica, Epping, N.H.; two grandchildren, Olivia and Jackson Moody; sister Diane H. Flechtner, Scarborough, Maine; brothers John H. Moody and his wife, Judy, Derry, N.H., and Stephen M. Moody and his wife, Lisa, Nashua, N.H.He was predeceased by his sister, Carolyn Ranney, and brother Maurice M. Moody Jr.In addition, Bob is survived by brother and sister-in-law Diana and Peter Ferrero, Lunenburg, Mass., and brother and sister-in-law Michael and Kate Audette, St. Peters, Mo., and Betty Drake Moody, Port Charlotte, Fla.; as well as several aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews..SERVICES: At the request of the family, there will be no calling hours. Following cremation, he will be buried at the NH Veterans' Cemetery, Boscawen, N.H. A celebration of Bob's life will be held at a later date.
