Schneider, Robert H.Robert H. Schneider, age 89, a lifelong resident of Kewaunee, died quietly at Linden Manor surrounded by his children on Saturday, April 29, 2017. He was born on May 21, 1927, to the late Charles and Rose (Albrecht) Schneider. He married Frances Kassner on December 28, 1950, and she preceded him in death on September 12, 2012.Robert graduated from Kewaunee High School in 1945. While in high school, he played football and basketball. He was a member of band, the Debate and Drama clubs, National Honor Society and Lake Whispers yearbook staff. After graduation from high school, Robert joined the United States Army and is a World War II veteran. He graduated from Marquette University in 1951.Robert joined Hamilton Industries in Two Rivers as a printer's sales representative in 1951. He became the sales promotion manager for professional lines. After that, he became the marketing manager for medical and dental, printing, and government accounts. He developed dispatch equipment for daily newspapers and helped develop dental units for shipboard use. He also helped design M.A.S.H. units with the Air Force that are now used by all services of the military.Schneider was a member of Rotary, a Paul Harris award recipient, a 70 year member of the American Legion, and a member of the Masonic Order, Eastern Star and Beja Shrine. He is a former Scoutmaster, was on the Bay Lakes BSA Advisory Council and a James West Fellow. He also published the Kewaunee Star newspaper for eight years. Robert was a lifelong member of Kewaunee Community Congregational Church where he served on many committees over the years. Robert is survived by his daughter, Terry Schneider, De Pere; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Garth and Peggy Schneider, Lake Geneva; four grandchildren: Carly (Nick) Vondrak, Kathleen Schneider, Claire Schneider and Tom Schneider; nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Schneider.Friends may call at Community Congregational Church, 502 Center Street, Kewaunee, on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A Masonic service will be held at 10:30 followed by American Legion Services. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. John Wallace officiating. Burial with full military rites will be in Riverview Cemetery following the service.
