Knapp, Robert K. "Bob" 83, died Mon., Nov. 9, 2015 following a brief illness. Vigil Service at 7 P.M. Thurs., Nov. 12; Funeral Mass at 11 A.M. Fri., Nov. 13, both at Church of the Resurrection. Dr. Knapp was born on February 12, 1932 in Akron, OH, but he called Wichita home for over half a century. In 1961 he joined the Wichita University faculty as a psychology professor, and enjoyed a 35-year tenure there, specializing in industrial and motivational psychology. His love of aircraft was fully realized in Wichita, and he helped found WSU's Human Factors advanced degree programs. Bob was also one of the early volunteers to bring "Doc" back to life, working with the B-29's restoration team for many years. He devoted his life to serving Jesus Christ, and was a dedicated steward and long-time member of Church of the Resurrection Parish. Bob is preceded in death by son, Christopher, and parents, Ralph and Helen. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara; sons, Ken (Maria) of Boca Raton, FL, Phil (Debbie), Rob (Becky), both of Wichita; sisters, Barbara Adolph, Mary Jo Mandel (Gene), both of Palmdale, CA, Jacquelyn Talley of Powder Springs, GA; aunt, Martha Anderson of Akron, OH; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter.
