Karpinski, RobertRobert "Bob" "Karp" Karpinski, age 74, passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by family and without ever losing his faith, on Saturday August 12, 2017. Bob was born on January 4, 1943 in Milwaukee, WI to Theodore and Dorothy (née Kleczka) Karpinski Fula. He was a graduate of St. John's Cathedral High School in Milwaukee, WI and later University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a Bachelor's Degree in Science in 1972. He received his Master's Degree from Marian College in 1990. Bob raised his family in Oconomowoc, where he also served on the Volunteer Fire Department. Some of Bob's fondest memories in Oconomowoc include hanging out at Harry's Barbershop as well as Christie's auto shop with his friend, Pat Murphy. Bob worked for many years as a math and science teacher, starting at Nashotah Grade School, Oconomowoc Junior and Senior High Schools, and Green Bay West High School. He also served as a school administrator at Roosevelt Junior High in Appleton, WI. Having first visited "Up North" in 1949, Bob moved to his cottage on Snipe Lake in Eagle River, WI full-time upon retirement. Bob was a great storyteller with a wonderful sense of humor. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and award-winning woodcarver. Bob enjoyed many happy and peaceful days working in the woods, building deer stands and snowshoeing. One of his favorite things was hosting the annual "Snipe Hollow Deer Camp." Preceded in death by his parents, Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Deb Karpinski (née Gollonik) of St. Germain, WI; daughters, Linda Karpinski of Ft. Myers, FL, Kathleen "Kathie" (Scott Dallasta) Wade of Olympia, WA, and Ellen (Jamal Ghanname) Karpinski of Fes, Morocco; brother, Kenneth (Carol) Karpinski of Oak Creek, WI; brother-in-law, David (Trisha) Gollonik of Mosinee, WI; grandson, Zachary Karpinski of Ft. Myers, FL; his favorite uncle, Jack Lewis of Arbor Vitae, WI; special cousin, Gilbert Murawski of West Allis, WI; nephews and nieces and their families; countless friends, among whom were of great help during his illness - heartfelt thanks to Maria and Jeff Ewald, Carey Johnson, and Ralph Pelto; and special neighbors. He is further survived by his cherished cats, Belle and Lola. A memorial service will be held on Friday August 18, 2017 at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Eagle River, WI.
