He attended Toledo public schools and graduated from Scott High School.

At the age of 19 Robert moved to Flint, Michigan and began a successful 10 year modeling career for Ebony Fashions which featured his photos in Jet & Ebony magazines. He later became employed by General Motors until his retirement in 1995.

Rob was known as a kind hearted person who possessed a heart of gold as he unselfishly shared with others.

On November 20th, 1999 Robert married the love of his life, Ronda Jones , and to this union they welcomed a beautiful baby girl… Stephanie Cross.

On November 27th, 2017 Pastor Shannon Banks responded to a request to visit the home of a hospice patient (Robert Cross)And give him his last rights and pray for him. After prayer went forth Robert accepted Christ as his personal savior. He joined Greater New Life Kingdom Deliverance Center and was baptized in Jesus’ name on March 1st, 2021. Sunday October 10th 2021 Robert attended worship service where he danced and rejoiced for the last time in this earthly realm.

Robert leaves to cherish his memory; His loving wife of 21 years Ronda Cross, His children Stephanie Cross, Franchea Cross & Robert Cross Jr. A God-daughter Mariah Crawford, His precious Grand-daughters that he adored No’Veah Crawford & Naryah Beason. His siblings, Yulanda Anderson, Bernard Cross, Michelle Medley, Detrice Fortune, Marice Fortune, Marcus Fortune, Valient Fortune ( Fontella), Special friend & caregiver Demetric Clinton, The Greater New Life Kingdom Church family and a host of relatives and friends
