Robert Matthew Galloway, 71, of Owensboro, passed away June 15, 2023, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born January 9, 1952, in Daviess County to the late Henry and Helen Vessels Galloway.
At a young age “Bobby” worked alongside his brothers for his dad at Henry’s Automotive then began a career with his brothers at Galloway Frame and Axle and later at Galloway Brothers Truck Service. He was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral. He enjoyed coaching hockey and served as the President of the Owensboro Youth Hockey Association. He especially loved being outdoors where he could be found hunting, fishing, or going on walks with his grandchildren. Robert loved his family and being a Galloway… “ No doubt about that”.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers; Jimmy, Tommy, John, Joe, Francis, and Paul, and sisters; Joyce, Sue, and Rosemary.
Surviving include his wife, Melissa Galloway, children; Brandy and Matt; grandchildren, Robert, Grace, Leyton, and Luxx, and siblings; Betty Galloway, Pat (Kathy) Galloway, Tony Galloway, and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at St. Stephen Cathedral. Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the church. Burial will follow at Mater Dolorosa Cemetery.
