Robert Michael SlobodzianPORT CLINTON: Robert Michael Slobodzian, 82, lifelong resident of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. He was born on February 7, 1935 in Port Clinton, the son of Michael and Anna (Yakobison) Slobodzian. On July 13, 1963 he married Ruth Uhrman and she survives.Bob was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Germany during peacetime. After his discharge from the Army, Bob worked as a supervisor at Ford Motor Company in Sandusky, Ohio until his retirement in 1990. After he retired, Bob and Ruth enjoyed wintering at Fort Myers Beach in Florida for over 25 years.He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Port Clinton; longtime member of the Port Clinton Yacht Club; Port Clinton
Elks Lodge 1718, Port Clinton Moose Lodge 1610, as well as the Port Clinton Lions Club. Bob was a social butterfly and enjoyed meeting everyday at McDonalds with his buddies to enjoy their coffee klatch. He also loved to go fishing, gambling at the casinos, but most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.Survivors include his loving wife, Ruth; daughters, Jane (Chad) Miller, St. Clair, Michigan and Sandy (Jeff) Zipes, Centerville, Ohio; grandchildren, Ben, Christian, Luke Miller, and Sarah and Laura Zipes. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Walter Slobodzian, and sisters, Martha Slobodzian, Helen Ambrozy, and Alice Edwards.Visitation will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 5-8 pm at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, Ohio. On Saturday, February 25, 2017, prayers will begin at the funeral home at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison Street, Port Clinton, with Fr. John Missler officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton.Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
