WAPAKONETA — Robert L. "Bob" Moyler Sr., 88, of Wapakoneta passed away at 11:06 p.m. Tuesday December 13, 2016 at his residence.
He was born on July 19, 1928 in Lima, OH to John & Thelma (Clevenger) Moyler who preceded him in death. On October 8, 1949 he married Frances A. VanOver who preceded him in death on April 22, 2011.
Survivors include two daughters; Maureen (David) Omlor of Mesa, AZ, Melissa (Gregg) Sharp of Wapakoneta, a son Mike (Cheryl) Moyler of Wapakoneta, a daughter-in-law Dawn Moyler of Cridersville, 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a sister Jenis Engle of Cridersville.
He was preceded in death by a son Robert L. "Bob" Moyler Jr., three brothers Tim, Jack and Dick Moyler, two sisters Peggy Krick and Patricia "Pat" Pugh.
Bob served in the U.S. Navy. He was a sheet metal worker for over 50 years working with the Sheet Metal Workers Union 198. He was a member of the American Legion and Wapakoneta Community Worship Center where he served as a board member and deacon. Bob was also known as a master jury rigger and craftsman making homemade knives. He greatly enjoyed playing the harmonica and was a lover of all animals.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday December 19, 2016 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta. Pastors Jerry Hall and Dan Holbrook will be co-officiating with military rites being performed by the V.F.W. Post 8445 at the funeral home. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Community Health Professionals or Wapakoneta Community Worship Center.
