Robert A. Pape, 88, of Loveland, CO died November 6, 2016. Robert was born on June 3, 1928 in Chicago, IL to Arthur and Mildred (Kuempel) Pape. He served two years in the U.S.
Army during the occupation in Japan. In November of 1948 he met Lorraine Mokate and it might have been love at first sight, for he told his buddies...that is the girl I am going to marry, which happened on September 16, 1950. In a span of 17 years, he had six children: 5 boys and 1 girl. Lorraine was a stay at home mom while Bob was out building custom homes and later worked for Sears in Chicago before moving to Loveland in 1973. Bob bought and ran Sunny Jims Candy Ranch with his brother Ron, then became sole owner in 1970 to 1989. Robert is survived by his wife of 66 years Lorraine; sons Robert Jr. (Connie) of Denver, CO, Bill (Melanie) of Port Washington, WI, Richard of Loveland, Tom (Megan) of Loveland and Mark of Broomfield; daughter Susan Beatty (Roy) of Cody, WY; sister-in-law Gerrie Mokate of Chicago; and grandchildren Justin Pape, Evan Pape, Ethan Pape, Matthew Beatty and Krystina Beatty. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Roger and Ronald Pape, sister Doris Bublitz and sister-in-law Virginia Rollo. Memorial services will be held at Abiding Love Lutheran Church on Veteran's Day, Friday, November 11, 2016 at 3:00pm with a light reception following at the church.
