On Wednesday, July 29, 2020, Robert Patrick Vickers, loving stepdad, son, brother, and friend passed away at the young age of 43.
Robby was born on June 23, 1977, in Venice, Florida to Patrick Vickers and Mary Fox. After his family moved to Georgia, Robby spent many summers with his aunts and cousins in Florida. Robby grew up in Cumming, Georgia and graduated from Forsyth Central High School. Robby moved to Dahlonega with his family and helped build his parent’s home and built his own home in the mountains of Dahlonega. Robby worked with his father-in-law, Stan Waits, painting houses in Chestatee subdivision for the last ten years. Although, divorced in 2019, Robby married Jacqueline Hughes on December 31, 2015.
Robby loved life. He would say “You can make it a good day or a bad day”. If you knew Robby, you knew his beautiful smile. His humor, love, and laughter were irresistibly contagious. He was a master of carpentry and could literally build anything. His kindness was limitless in that he never met a stranger and he would give you the shirt off his back. He loved his customers in Chestatee and knew and befriended them for life. Robby’s passion was animals. He loved his dogs, he is survived by Champ (Boxer), Rocky (Hound Dog), and Colby (Yellow lab).
Robby was preceded in death by his father, Captain Patrick Barton Vickers, grandparents, John H. and Bettie Barton Vickers, his uncle John Vickers, his aunt Maureen Elizabeth Jeffers, and beloved cousin, Keri.
Robby is survived by his sister and favorite brother-in-law, Katie and Eric Ford, his mother and stepfather, Mary and Stan Waits, his stepson Tristen Rose,stepdaughters Brooke DeValk and Meagan Koontz, his nieces Alyssa and Alaina Ford, his stepmom Crystal Vickers, and his former wife Jacqueline Hughes.
