PEREMES Robert Patrick (Bob), of Upper Saddle River, died on March 15, 2017 from complications following surgery. Bob was born on March 17, 1935, to Andrew Peremes and Mary (McGowan) Peremes in The Bronx, NY. The family moved to NJ and Bob went to parochial schools until Emerson High School, graduating in 1952. A U.S.
Army Veteran, he attended Fairleigh Dickinson University, Teaneck and graduated in Business Management cum laude in 1962. That year he joined International Business Machines as a systems engineer. That was the infancy of widespread use of computers in business and Bob was offered jobs at every installation he visited. He began working for Duro-Test Corp. in 1965 as the company's systems analyst, working there for 23 years. Later, he did consulting work for Alliance Funding. Bob was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Andrew (Jack) Peremes. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sylvia (Pinsan) Peremes; his daughters Nancy Peremes Barton and Donna Peremes; his grandchildren Alison, Nicholas and John Barton; his brother Stephen Peremes and wife Jan. He is also survived by his sister-in-law May and many nieces and nephews. An enthusiastic athlete Bob loved skiing, swimming at the shore, jogging, and going to the gym. He ran the NY marathon several times in his 50s. He also enjoyed golf which he began playing with The Hobbyists after retirement. He was an avid reader and liked to watch old movies with Sylvia. He and Sylvia did some traveling and spent their 50th anniversary in Tahiti. Visiting hours are 2-6 PM at the Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave., Ramsey, NJ on Sunday March 19, 2017 with a funeral mass being celebrated at Church of the Presentation, 271 West Saddle River Road, Upper Saddle River, NJ, on Monday March 20, 2017 at 10 AM.
