DELAWARE — Robert S. Hite, 85, of Delaware, died Saturday morning, Oct. 22, 2016, at his residence surrounded by family.
He was born on Aug. 17, 1931, in Columbus to the late John and Helen (Wilson) Hite. He was a graduate of South High School and U.S. Army Korean War veteran. Owner/operator for 20 years of the Beer Kooler in Delaware.
Robert was a family oriented man who loved to take his grandchildren on trips to Florida. He was not afraid to speak his mind and express his opinion. Robert was an accomplished organist and played in his younger years for St. Mark Lutheran Church. Robert was a story teller who could be ornery and stubborn but he was hard working and a good business man.
His proudest achievement in life was his grandchildren and owning his own business. He loved spending time at the ocean in Florida and riding the jet ski well up into his 70's with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and driving fast cars.
He is survived by his daughter: Sheri Fisher of Marysville; grandchildren: Melanie (Bob) Pickett of Marysville, Amy (Jeff) Weaver of Hawaii, Michael (Deborah) Fisher of Richwood; great-grandchildren: Dakota, Natalie, Austin, AJ, Ryan, Jessie, Jenny, Jasmine.
He was preceded in death by brothers: Harold, Richard, David.
Friends may call Friday, Oct. 28, 2016, from 4-8 p.m. at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive (formerly 1510 W. William St., Delaware. Graveside services will be held Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016, at 11 a.m. in the Glen Rest Memorial Estates, 8029 E. Main S., Reynoldsburg, OH 43068.
